The wine is aged for 30 months in medium-toasted American oak barrels (new and second-year barrels), during which time it is decanted every 6 months. This is followed by a further 36 months of bottle ageing to achieve the classic balance of a Rioja Gran Reserva. Tasting notes Ruby red in color with rusty hues. The aroma is noticeably developed, with dried fruit, leather, tobacco, spices, balsamic and toast coming to the fore. The taste is full and velvety, with ripe berries, integrated oak, elegant tannins and a long, aristocratic finish. A classic example of the Rioja wine style.
